What's New

Tetons Update
The summer solstice has come, and summer truly has finally arrived--the weather in the Tetons is warm and sunny, the mountain snows are melting, and we've had some early Grand Teton summit success. We are looking forward to a fun, successful, and safe season ahead. Don't hesitate to call our office with any questions about trips or mountain conditions.

International Climbers' Festival
Lander, Wyoming: be there for a great, fun week of climbing, clinics, events, raffles, and meeting other climbers! This year's International Climbers' Festival is taking place on July 8-12, and JHMG guides will be there to teach rescue clinics on the 11th and 12th. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Facebook
Jackson Hole Mountain Guides is now up on Facebook! We have lots of great photos and stories of recent trips on our page, so check it out, become a fan, and keep up-to-date with our activities. Featured now are Grand Teton ski descents and early summer climbing, as well as a guides' page and photos of our Moab branch.

Beartooth Skiing
Early June means great spring ski conditions in the Beartooth Range of northern Wyoming/southern Montana. With roads accessing high elevations, there are a variety of options available from day skis to multi-day expeditions reaching spectacular couloirs hidden in the range. Guide Eddie Horney is heading there the week of June 10.

News from Corbet High Camp
High Camp is now up--Rob Hess organized our annual pilgrimage on Friday, May 29 to erect the Weatherport and get camp set up for the season. Andy Carson, Paul Horton, Sue Miller, Dave Wade, and Pat McInerny made the journey, encountering snow from about 8000'. HC was immediately put into use by Doug Workman and Eddie Horney, who climbed and skied the Grand Teton with Wilsonite John DelMonte on May 30!

Alaska Summit
Greg Collins reached the summit of Mount Hunter (14,573') May 13 in 50 mph gusts. His group climbed the West Ridge in 10 days, summiting after being pinned down in their 10,600' high camp for days in high winds. Several other guides are working in Alaska now, including Mark Postle, Nate Opp, Rob Gowler, Tom Torkelson, and Julia Niles.

New Faces
Three of our guides and their spouses have had babies this winter and spring! Eddie Horney and his wife Karen welcomed daughter Alias in December; Mark Limage and partner Cara Liberatore had a girl, Zoe, in April, and Whit Magro and his wife Kimberly have a new son Eli this May. All are new parents--congratulations!
